• Doctorate in Islamic Banking & International Economics from University Of East London (UEL), U.K.
• Professional Qualification onn Accounting from Institute of Chartered Accountant in England & Wales (ICAEW), U.K. (Fellow)
• Professional Qualification on Certified Credit Professional from Institute of Bankers Malaysia
• Degree in Industrial Economics with Accounting from University of Nottingham, U.K.

Working Experience and Occupation:

• Dr. Mazatul 'Aini Shahar Binti Abdul Malek Shahar ("Dr Aini") was the Group Chief Financial Officer of Proton Holdings Berhad prior to the merger with Zhejiang Geely Group. Previously, she was the Chief Financial Officer for Nationwide Express Courier Services Berhad.
• Dr. Aini has 26 years of hands-on experience in Islamic banking & finance, fund-raising, transformation management, corporate finance and advisory works. She was with Aseambankers Malaysia Berhad, Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad and Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad. She began her career with Arthur Anderson & Co in 1995 after graduating from the University of Nottingham, UK.
• She also became a financial consultant to Prokhas Sdn Bhd and Malaysia Institute of Accountants, where she was the editor of the first Islamic Finance Accounting textbook. Dr. Aini is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and obtained her PhD in Political Economy & Islamic Banking from a London University.
• Currently, she is an Independent Non-Executive Director of IJN Holdings Sdn Bhd. Previously, Dr. Aini was also an Independent Non-Executive Director at 7-Eleven Malaysia Holdings Berhad and TH Heavy Engineering Berhad and a member of Audit Committee for both companies.
