MSM Prai, Malaysia's largest sugar refinery, is strategically located near Penang Port, featuring a dedicated jetty that facilitates cost-effective offloading of raw sugar directly from sea vessels into storage for refining.
The refinery processes raw sugar by removing impurities and refining sugar crystals, producing food-grade products such as white sugar, brown sugar, caster sugar, and icing sugar for both consumer and industrial markets. Additionally, molasses, a by-product of the refining process, is marketed for use in ethanol production, animal feed, and yeast manufacturing.
